2027 SI Convention

We are very pleased for Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA) to host the Soroptimist International (SI) Convention in 2027!

Soroptimist International consists of five Federations: Soroptimist International Africa Federation, Soroptimist International of the Americas, Soroptimist International of Europe, Soroptimist International of Great Britain & Ireland and Soroptimist International of the South West Pacific.

A global volunteer movement, we work together to transform the lives of women and girls. Our network of around 72,000 club members in 121 countries works at a local, national and international level to Educate, Empower and Enable opportunities for women and girls.

Completely volunteer led from planning to execution, the SI Convention is held every four years and brings together speakers and members from countries and territories around the globe representing Soroptimist’s five federations.

To execute such an important event, we will be launching a call for two key volunteer roles: SI Convention Chair and SI Convention Treasurer. These positions provide members with an opportunity to make a valuable contribution to our global organization while having a fun, unique, and rewarding experience.

SIA is seeking a Convention Chair and Convention Treasurer for the SI 2027 Convention to lead the planning of this event from the following possible locations.

Members who meet the criteria from these areas are encouraged to apply before April 15, 2022. Once the final site selection is made, SIA’s President will appoint the Convention Chair and Convention Treasurer.

• California (San Diego)
• Canada (Toronto and Vancouver)
• Florida (Miami)
• Japan (Yokohama)
• Nevada (Las Vega)
• Philippines (Manila)

The Convention Chair and Convention Treasurer must reside within the domain in which the proposed Convention will be held. Other qualifications are as follows.

Qualifications for SI 2027 Convention Chair

The application must include your applicable skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, qualified candidates will:

• support, exemplify and promote the mission/vision of SIA and SI.
• possess the skills and experience to drive, plan and manage the design and delivery of the Convention in accordance with the vision and aspirations of the International Board.
• have proven business acumen, with sound risk management skills, diplomacy, and integrity with the ability to motivate, nurture and cherish a local organizing committee.
• be highly proficient in the English language and have strong ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English.

Qualifications for SI 2027 Convention Treasurer

The application must include applicable skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, qualified candidates will:

• support, exemplify and promote the mission/vision of SIA and SI.
• possess the skills and experience to monitor and control budgets per generally accepted accounting practices.
• have proven financial acumen, with financial risk management skills.
• be highly proficient in the English language and have strong ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English.
