SIA’s Fund Development Team
SIA Board of Directors
The volunteer board of directors is responsible for setting our strategic direction and ensuring the organization has the financial resources needed to achieve its goals. The board directors serve as role models by making personally significant gifts, being ambassadors for contributing to SIA’s programs, and sharing information about potential donors and supporters with fund development staff. While the board can engage volunteers and staff to assist in fund development, they cannot delegate their responsibility.
Fundraising Council
This volunteer committee of the board of directors is responsible for strategies to meet annual revenue goals through club and individual giving. They have a close relationship with the Region Fundraising Chairs to build support for club and individual contributions. They also connect potential donors and supporters to Donor Relations Task Force members or fund development staff.
Donor Relations Task Force
This volunteer ad hoc task force is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors capable of making a major gift ($5,000 and above). The DRTF members are trained and experienced in soliciting larger gifts and should be consulted when there is a potential for a major gift. Currently the DRTF is based in the United States. Major gifts can support the annual campaign or the Dream Big Campaign.
Dream Big Campaign Committee
This volunteer ad hoc committee is responsible for raising awareness of our 2021-2031 Big Goal and raising $15 million to support for SIA’s capacity building needs to achieve our Big Goal. This committee will serve through 2023.
Region Governors
These volunteers are the chief administrative officers of a region. The region governor serves as the team leader to ensure the region strengthens and supports clubs as they carry out SIA’s strategic direction. This includes appointing and supporting the Region Fundraising Chairs, increasing donors, improving the donor experience within their region, and increasing donations to support our 2021-2031 Big Goal.
Region Fundraising Chairs
These volunteers are responsible for promoting financial support for the Dream Programs through individual and club contributions. The RFCs have a representative from each region and needs to be informed about annual and capacity building campaigns and be knowledgeable about connecting donors and supporters to Fundraising Council members, Donor Relations Task Force members or fund development staff.
SIA Staff
Responsible for reaching the annual and long-term fund development goals of the organization. They do this through strategy development and execution in support of the annual fund and capacity campaigns. They are responsible for ensuring the board and fund development volunteers have the education, support and resources they need to achieve their goals. SIA fund development staff will act as a clearinghouse for potential donors and supporters and assigns these leads to the appropriate team members. In addition, some staff members maintain their own portfolio of perspective donors.
